Week of Jan. 25 - 31
Swimming
Lindsay LukesLindsay Lukes, Senior (Austin, Minn.), of UW-Stevens Point
In a 132-111 dual meet victory over UW-La Crosse on Jan. 30, Lukes finished second in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:57.39 and first in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 5:19.61.  However it was her performance swimming the last leg of the 400-yard freestyle relay that sealed the team win.  With UW-La Crosse leading by three and only the 400-yard freestyle relay remaining, Lukes swam the fastest leg of the relay to win by a touch and claim the dual win for UW-Stevens Point.

Katrina FitzgeraldKatrina Fitzgerald, Freshman (Farmington, Minn.), of UW-Eau Claire
Fitzgerald won the one-meter and three-meter dives in a 144-89 dual meet victory over UW-Whitewater on Jan. 30.  She finished the one-meter event and the three-meter event with scores of 232.35 and 214.50, respectively.

Week of Jan. 18 - 24
Swimming
Casey PreisselCasey Preissel, Junior (Wisconsin Dells), of UW-Eau Claire
Preissel swam 10 times as the Blugolds took second place out of 10 teams at the UW-Stevens Point Invitational.  She was the leadoff swimmer in the 400-yard freestyle relay, which UW-Eau Claire won with a time of 3:40.29.  She also took second in the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 2:13.54, a team-best and the second fastest time in the conference this season.  Preissel had third-place finishes in the 200-yard freestyle relay and 800-yard freestyle relay and fifth-place finishes in the 200-yard individual medley and 100-yard freestyle.

Anna NylandAnna Nyland, Sophomore (Eau Claire), of UW-Stevens Point
Competing at the UW-Stevens Point Invitational, Nyland was the top diver for the Pointers for the second straight week.  She finished third in both the one-meter and three-meter events.  In the one- meter dive, Nyland scored a 387.80 and in the three-meter competition, she scored a 401.20.

Week of Jan. 4 - 17
Swimming
Andrea WagnerAndrea Wagner, Freshman (Apple Valley, Minn.), of UW-Stevens Point
Wagner had three first-place finishes and one second-place finish at a tri-dual against UW-Whitewater and UW-Oshkosh on Jan. 16.  She finished first in the 50-yard freestyle and 100-yard freestyle with times of 25.20 and 55.64, respectively.  In the 100-yard butterfly, Wagner placed second with a time of 1:02.94.  She completed her weekend by leading the 400-yard freestyle team to a victory of over seven seconds faster than the second-place team.

Anna NylandAnna Nyland, Sophomore (Eau Claire), of UW-Stevens Point
Nyland won both diving events at a tri-dual against UW-Whitewater and UW-Oshkosh on Jan. 16.  She tallied a score of 210.65 in the one-meter event and a mark of 212.10 in the three-meter competition.

Week of Dec. 7 - 13
Swimming
Nicole DorvinenNicole Dorvinen, Sophomore (Green Bay/Bay Port), of UW-Eau Claire
Dorvinen led the Blugolds with two first-place finishes as she took the top spot in the 1,000-yard freestyle with a time of 10:52.72 and the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 5:18.07.  Both were season-best times for her.  The Blugolds came up just short to UW-La Crosse 123.5-118.5 on Dec. 12.

Rachel LaValleyRachel LaValley, Junior (Eau Claire/Memorial), of UW-La Crosse
LaValley swept the one-meter and three-meter diving competition in UW-La Crosse’s dual victory at UW-Eau Claire on Dec. 12.  She won the one-meter with 240.25 points and the three-meter with 267.45.

Week of Nov. 30 - Dec. 6
Swimming
Chelsea HoffChelsea Hoff, Senior (Middleton), of UW-La Crosse

Hoff won the 50-yard freestyle (23.92), while placing third in the 100-yard freestyle (52.40) and 100-yard backstroke (59.77) at the UW-River Falls Invitational held Dec. 4-5 in Minneapolis, Minn.  Her time in the 50-yard freestyle and 100-yard freestyle were both NCAA Division III “B” qualifying times.  She was also on three relays which all placed fifth.  Hoff was a member of UW-La Crosse’s 200-yard freestyle relay (1:40.11), 200-yard medley relay (1:50.43) and 400-yard medley relay (4:04.20).

Megan FinleyMegan Finley, Junior (Waunakee), of UW-Eau Claire
Finley recorded two first-place finishes as the Blugolds defeated UW-River Falls 151-81 on Nov. 21.  She secured the top spot in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 1:02.70, while taking first in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 25:49.  Finley was also part of the second-place 800-yard freestyle relay team that finished with a time of 8:15.66.

Kirsten LickelKirsten Lickel, Sophomore (Madison/East), of UW-Eau Claire
Lickel had the best time in two events as the Blugolds defeated UW-Oshkosh 180-55 on Nov. 14.  She took the top spot in the 1,650-yard freestyle with a time of 18:39.67, almost 40 seconds ahead of the rest of the field, while she had the best time in the 200-yard breaststroke at 2:32.74.

Fitzgerald took the top spot in the one-meter diving competition with 213 points and the three-meter diving competition with 196.55 points as the Blugolds beat UW-Oshkosh 180-55 on Nov. 14.

Liz SchneiderLiz Schneider, Sophomore (Madison/LaFollette), of UW-Oshkosh
Schneider won two events as UW-Oshkosh defeated Northern Michigan University, 120-117, Nov. 7 in Oshkosh.  Schneider won the 500-yard freestyle and 1,650-yard freestyle events with times of 5:38.21 and 19:15.12, respectively.  Schneider also swam on UW-Oshkosh’s 200-yard freestyle relay that posted a winning time of 1:48.80.  Joining Schneider in the relay were Melissa Harvey, Angie Picotte and Heather Statz.

Shannon DoyleShannon Doyle, Junior (Austin, Minn.), of UW-La Crosse
Doyle won the three-meter diving competition at the Northfield (Minn.) Invitational on Nov. 7. She qualified for the NCAA III Championship with a score of 428.25 points.  Doyle was second in the one-meter competition with 400.15 points.

Week of Oct. 26 - Nov. 1
Swimming
Julia OlsonJulia Olson, Sophomore (Faribault, Minn.), of UW-Eau Claire
Olson performed well against St. Cloud State (Minn.) and UW-Stevens Point on Oct. 31, taking first in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 24.43 and first in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 54.30.  Her time in the 50-yard event was just two-tenths of a second away from a "B"-cut qualifying time for the national meet.  She was part of a 400-yard freestyle relay team that took second with a time of 3:40.97 and added a fourth-place finish in the 200-yard freestyle.

Cassie DutkoCassie Dutko, Freshman (Oshkosh/North), of UW-Oshkosh
Dutko recorded scores of 144.53 in the one-meter diving and 128.95 in the three-meter diving as UW-Oshkosh opened its 2009-10 season at home against Carroll University (Wis.) on Oct. 31.  UW-Oshkosh edged Carroll University in the meet by a score of 95-90.

Swimming

Nicole DorvinenNicole Dorvinen, Sophomore (Green Bay/Bay Port), of UW-Eau Claire
Competing in three events, Dorvinen took first place in each one as the Blugolds defeated NCAA Division II Minnesota State University-Mankato 134-109 on Oct. 16.  She won the 200-yard individual medley with a time of 2:17.35, while also picking up first in the 100-yard butterfly (1:01.36) and the 500-yard freestyle (5:23.07).
