UW-Platteville - 4x400-Meter Relay Team - Liz Baker, Junior, Richland Center; Alison Glendenning, Senior, Germantown, Ill. (Forreston); Ann Tank, Freshman, Dodgeville; Jessica Scott, Senior, Kiel
The Pioneer quartet placed first in the 4x400-meter relay with a time of 3:54.31 at the Loras College (Iowa) Open on April 25. Their performance provisionally qualified them for the NCAA Division III Championship and is the second-best time in the country this year.

Holly Ozanich, Sophomore (Green Bay/East), of UW-Oshkosh
Ozanich threw to a pair of first-place performances at the Loras College (Iowa) Open on April 25. She won the shot put with a toss of 43-9 to surpass the field of 38 competitors. In the hammer throw, Ozanich took first place among the event’s 38 participants with a cast of 164-9. Ozanich surpassed the provisional qualifying standard for the NCAA Division III Championship in both events.

Liz Kooistra, Senior (Lakeville, Minn.), of UW-Eau Claire
Kooistra won the 400-meter dash at the prestigious Kansas Relays in a school-record time of 55.12 seconds. She broke her own school standard of 55.68 seconds which she set in placing fourth at last year’s NCAA Division III Championship. There were a total of 32 participants in the 400 at the Kansas Relays, including 17 NCAA Division I participants. Kooistra also automatically qualified for the NCAA Division III Championship with her performance and established the top time in the country this year.

Caitlin Schetter, Senior (Kiel), of UW-La Crosse
Participating at the prestigious Kansas Relays, Schetter automatically qualified for the NCAA Division III Championship in the long jump with a leap of 19-1 1/2. Her performance is tied for the best in the country this season. Schetter also provisionally qualified for the national meet in the triple jump with a distance of 37-3 1/4.

Humbach won the 3,000-meter steeplechase with a time of 10:47.46 at the Nike/Impact Sports UW-Platteville Invitational on April 10. Her time provisionally qualified her for the NCAA Division III Championship.

Frederick provisionally qualified for the NCAA Division III Championship in two events at the Nike/Impact Sports UW-Platteville Invitational on April 10. She won the shot put with a qualifying heave of 42-10 1/4 and earned a first-place finish in the discus with a qualifying toss of 140-9. Frederick also competed in the hammer throw and had a fling of 122-1.

Ayla Mitchell, Senior (New Richmond), of UW-Oshkosh
Mitchell broke the longest-standing outdoor record at UW-Oshkosh with her first-place performance in the 5,000-meter run at the UW-Oshkosh Invitational on April 4. She completed the race in 17:02.36, which was more than 16 seconds faster than the old standard of 17:18.87 that was set by Cheryl Niederberger in 1989. Mitchell also provisionally qualified for the NCAA Division III Championship with her performance.

Ellie Sitek, Junior (Marinette), of UW-Oshkosh
Sitek was a double-event winner at the UW-Oshkosh Invitational on April 4 as she helped the Titans achieve a second-place finish at the 12-team event. Sitek captured the discus with a heave of 150-0 and the hammer throw with a toss of 170-3 to provisionally qualify for the NCAA Division III Championship in both events.
