The Pioneers won the distance medley relay in a NCAA Division III provisional qualifying time of 11:55.23 at the Eastbay/UW-Stevens Point Invitational on Feb. 21. Their time ranks as the second-fastest in the country.

Katlin GentheKatlin Genthe, Junior (Menomonee Falls), of UW-La Crosse
Genthe finished second in the pole vault at the Wisconsin Badger Open on Feb. 21 with a NCAA Division III automatic qualifying mark of 12-3 1/2.  Her performance was a lifetime best and ranks at the fourth-best in the country this year.

Ayla MitchellAyla Mitchell, Senior (New Richmond), of UW-Oshkosh
Mitchell set a school record when she finished sixth in the mile run at the Iowa State University Track & Field Classic on Feb. 14.  Mitchell posted a time of 4:44.00 in a field of 39 competitors, with her nation-leading performance surpassing the automatic qualifying standard for the NCAA Division III Championship.  Her effort would have beat the provisional qualifying standard for the NCAA Division I Championship.

Frederick recorded a pair of NCAA Division III provisional qualifying performances at the Nike/Impact Sports UW-Platteville Invitational on Feb. 14.  She won the shot put with a distance of 43-11 3/4 and placed ninth in the weight throw with a fling of 50-4 1/2.

Week of Feb. 2 - 8

Ayla MitchellAyla Mitchell, Senior (New Richmond), of UW-Oshkosh
Mitchell won the 800-meter run with one of the fastest times in UW-Oshkosh history at the Warhawk Classic on Feb. 7.  Mitchell, who outran 27 other participants, posted a time of 2:11.39 to narrowly miss breaking Liz Woodworth’s school-record mark of 2:10.76.  Mitchell’s time, which also surpassed the automatic qualifying standard for the NCAA Division III Championship, is the fastest in the country.

Ellie SitekEllie Sitek, Junior (Marinette), of UW-Oshkosh
Sitek won a pair of throwing events to lead UW-Oshkosh to a second-place finish at the Warhawk Classic on Feb. 7.  She marked a nation-leading distance of 56-2 in winning the 20-pound weight throw that featured 30 competitors.  Sitek took first place in the shot put with a toss of 43-7 3/4 to surpass a field of 29 participants.  Sitek surpassed the automatic qualifying standard in the 20-pound weight throw and the provisional qualifying standard in the shot put for the NCAA Division III Championship.

Scott reached a NCAA Division III provisional qualifying mark of 4:59.67 in the mile run at the Wisconsin Elite Meet.  Her time currently ranks third in the nation in the event.

Fondow captured the long jump (18-6) and placed second in the triple jump (37-1 3/4) at the Minnesota State Open on Jan. 31.  She provisionally qualified for the NCAA Division III Championship in both events.  Fondow's long jump mark currently ranks second in the nation.

Caitlin SchetterCaitlin Schetter, Senior (Kiel), of UW-La Crosse
Schetter was second in the 55-meter dash (7.32) and was a member of UW-La Crosse's winning 4x200-meter relay (1:45.48) at the UW-Stout Open on Jan. 24.  She provisionally qualified for the NCAA Division III Championship in the 55-meter dash with a preliminary time of 7.23.

Sitek won a pair of throwing events with NCAA Division III provisional qualifying distances as UW-Oshkosh won its own five-team invitational held Jan. 23.  She took first place among 13 other competitors in the 20-pound weight throw with a cast of 53-6 1/2.  In the shot put, Sitek took the top ranking among 14 other competitors with a toss of 43-1 1/2.

Bell won the 55-meter dash at the Nike/Impact Sports UW-Platteville Open on Jan. 17 with a NCAA Division III provisional qualifying time of 7.28.  She was also a member of the victorious 4x200-meter relay team and the third-place 4x400-meter relay quartet.

Schetter won the long (18-7 1/4) and triple (37-3) jumps at the UW-Eau Claire Blugold Open on Jan. 16.  She provisionally qualified for the NCAA Division III Championships in both events and helped lead the Eagles to the team title with 155.50 points.
