Meghan Dugan, Junior (Waukesha/West), of UW-La Crosse
Dugan was the conference’s top finisher at the Lake Wissota Invitational Oct. 24. She placed fifth overall with a time of 18:56 on the 5,000-meter course and helped UW-La Crosse to a second-place team finish. A total of 69 runners participated in the event.

Ayla Mitchell, Junior (New Richmond), of UW-Oshkosh
Mitchell placed third among 415 runners at the UW-Oshkosh Brooks Invitational held Oct. 19 at the Lake Breeze Golf Course in Winneconne. Mitchell completed the 6,000-meter course in a time of 20:42. Marie Borner of Bethel University (Minn.) took individual honors with a time of 20:36. Jessica Monson of NCAA Division II UW-Parkside finished second with a time of 20:41 and Becca Jordahl of UW-River Falls fourth in 20:58. Calvin College (Mich.) scored 59 points to win the team title, while UW-Oshkosh finished second in the 30-team meet with 123 points.

Jessica Scott, Senior (Kiel), of UW-Platteville
Scott raced to third place overall and second among collegiate runners in a time of 22:16 over 6,000-meters at the Don Huston Invitational Oct. 11 in Waverly, Iowa. A total of 169 individuals and 13 teams competed in the race.

Ayla Mitchell, Junior (New Richmond), of UW-Oshkosh
Mitchell ran to the individual championship in the Gold Division of the Notre Dame Invitational held Oct. 3 in South Bend, Ind. Mitchell, who placed second in the renowned meet a year ago, completed this year’s 5,000-meter course in a time of 17:28. She was the lone NCAA Division III runner in the top seven individual listings. Crystina Martinez of NCAA Division I Indiana University-Purdue University Fort Wayne (Ind.) posted a time of 17:36 to place second among the 198 runners who finished the race. Kari Summers of NCAA Division I Ohio University was third in 17:41. Michigan State University, ranked eighth in the NCAA Division I by the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association, captured the team title with 76 points. Grand Valley State University (Mich.), ranked second in the NCAA Division II, finished second in the 23-team meet with 93 points. UW-Oshkosh, ranked 11th in the NCAA Division III, tallied 266 team points.

Jordahl won the Roy Griak Invitational for the second consecutive season at the University of Minnesota on September 27. She set a course record mark of 21:59 over the 6,000-meter course. A total of 497 runners competed in the prestigious race.

Week of Sept. 15 - 21
Ayla Mitchell, Junior (New Richmond), of UW-Oshkosh
Mitchell won her second straight race as UW-Oshkosh finished third at the Calvin College (Mich.) Invitational held Sept. 20 in Grand Rapids, Mich. She won the 5,000-meter race with a time of 17:31. Jessica Koster of Calvin College finished second among the 167 runners with a time of 17:57. Calvin College placed all five of its scorers in the top 11 individual finishes to win the 10-team meet with 33 points. The Knights entered the event ranked second in the NCAA Division III by the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association. 10th-ranked Case Western Reserve University (Ohio) finished second in the team standings with 58 points, while 20th-ranked UW-Oshkosh placed third with 72, NCAA Division II Grand Valley State University (Mich.) fourth with 119 and NAIA Aquinas College (Mich.) fifth with 126.

Becca Jordahl, Junior (Pocatello, Idaho/Century), of UW-River Falls
Jordahl won the 5,000-meter race at the All-American Invitational held at Luther College (Iowa) on Sept. 13. She established a Falcon record for the distance finishing in 17:58, breaking the previous mark by 48 seconds. A total of 128 runners completed the race.
