Singles
Carlie Bohrman, Junior (Oconomowoc), of UW-La Crosse
Bohrman went 2-0 at No. 2 singles during the week.  She defeated Amanda O’Keefe of UW-Stout (6-2, 6-0) and Megan Born of UW-Eau Claire (6-2, 6-0) to improve to 8-4 overall and 5-1 in the WIAC this year.

Siemon went 3-0 at No. 4 singles during the week to improve her overall record to 10-2 and conference mark to 4-0.  She lost only three games all week, beating Kaylei Sorensen of UW-Stevens Point (6-0, 6-0), Lauren Taugher of Concordia University (Wis.) (6-0, 6-0) and Megan Fallon of UW-La Crosse (6-3, 6-0).

Rachel Benn, Junior (Stevens Point/SPASH), of UW-Stevens Point
Competing at No. 1 singles, Benn recorded two wins during the week to improve to 8-2 on the season in dual meets.  Against Ripon College, she beat Josie Ullsperger, 6-2, 6-1, and followed that performance with a 2-6, 6-2, 6-3 triumph over UW-Stout’s Allie Hinman.

The duo went 3-0 at No. 2 doubles in three matches away from home during the week.  They defeated UW-Oshkosh’s Brittany Braasch/Alison Broerman (8-5) and North Central College’s (Ill.) Alicia DeGrado/Christine Heyd (8-2).  Against No. 17-ranked Wheaton College (Ill.) they upended Brittney Dunn/Kaylie Edwards (8-5) as UW-Whitewater emerged with a 5-4 win.

Hinman cruised to a pair of wins at No. 1 singles during the week, disposing of UW-River Falls' Kathryn Ostrowski, (6-1, 6-2) on September 26, then defeating LeRoyce Chapman of Bethel University (Minn.) by nearly identical scores (6-1, 6-3) on September 27.  She improved to 5-1 on the season with the two victories.

Bohrman and Schoenwaelder went 3-0 at No. 1 doubles during the week. The duo defeated Rachel Benn/Chelsea Allbaugh of UW-Stevens Point (8-2) in WIAC play to open the week. They then earned two wins on September 28 at Edgewood College. Bohrman/Schoenwaelder defeated Rachel Wendt/Hannah Tullberg of Wisconsin Lutheran (8-2) and Hannah Pincsak/Lizzie Starck of Edgewood (8-1). The duo is now 6-2 on the season.

Kalla Schaefer, Freshman (Madison/Memorial), of UW-Whitewater
Schaefer went 6-0 in singles matches at the prestigious ITA Midwest Regional in St. Peter, Minn., on Sept. 19-21.  She defeated Hannah Jensen of Coe College (Iowa), 6-0, 6-1, in the championship match to earn an automatic bid to the small college national tournament in Mobile, Ala. on Oct. 16-19.  Schaefer improved to 13-0 on the season with the six wins.

Kuether and McDonald finished second in doubles with a 4-1 record at the Fall Invite held at Gustavus Adolphus College (Minn.) on Sept. 19-21.  The duo opened with a win over Toni Troumbly/Sara Clements of St. Mary's University (Minn.) (8-0) before defeating Molly Eslick/Leanna Jenkins of Wartburg College (Iowa) (8-6) in the second round.  Kuether/McDonald defeated Lauren Jones/Kylie Huether of College of St. Benedict (Minn.) (8-1) in the quarterfinals and UW-Whitewater's Kara Amundson/Brittany Gering (8-5) in the semifinals.  Mary Roop/Marianne Barau of Gustavus Adolphus defeated Kuether/McDonald in the championship match (8-4).

Week of Sept. 8 - 14
Singles
Kalla Schaefer, Freshman (Madison/Memorial), of UW-Whitewater
Schaefer improved to 7-0 on the season, including 4-0 at No. 1 singles with a 2-6, 6-2, 10-7 triumph over UW-Milwaukee’s Kelly Dvarik.  Dvarik had 16 wins and was a Horizon League second team all-conference performer last season.  Schaefer has beaten four opponents this year that had NCAA Division III ITA rankings in 2007-08.

Competing at No. 1 doubles, Abbott and Bostwick opened WIAC play by defeating their opponents from UW-Stout and UW-Eau Claire.  In UW-Oshkosh’s 5-4 win over UW-Stout on Sept. 12, Abbott and Bostwick posted an 8-6 victory over Amanda O’Keefe and Sarah Smith.  Against UW-Eau Claire on Sept. 13, Abbott and Bostwick tallied an 8-6 win over Gina Dahl and Jackie Gillespie.  Abbott and Bostwick concluded the week with a 2-1 record after dropping a tight 8-6 decision to Alana Humpal and Kathryn Nichols of Luther College (Iowa) on Sept. 13.

Week of Sept. 1 - 7
Singles
Katie McDonald, Sophomore (Green Bay/Bay Port), of UW-La Crosse
McDonald captured the No. 3 singles flight with a 3-0 record at the UW-Whitewater Warhawk Invitational on Sept. 6. She defeated Kathryn Saiz of UW-Oshkosh in the quarterfinals (6-1, 6-0) and Michelle Reinders of UW-Eau Claire in the semifinals (6-0, 6-2). McDonald then earned the title win over Annie Smith of UW-Whitewater in the championship match (7-5, 6-4). She began the week with a victory over Julia Win of Beloit College at No. 2 singles (6-1, 6-0).

The duo finished undefeated at No. 3 doubles in three Falcon wins during the week. UW-River Falls opened its season with a 6-3 win at St. Norbert College on Sept. 5 and then beat Lawrence University and Edgewood College, 5-4, on Sept. 6.  Gillman and Bonine beat all three of their opponents by an 8-2 margin.
