Singles
Mercedes Blanch, Senior (Huesca, Spain/Yelm, Wash.), of UW-Oshkosh
Blanch won all three of her No. 1 singles contests against opponents from UW-Stevens Point on October 13, St. Olaf (Minn.) on October 16 and UW-Whitewater on October 16. She topped Tiffany Serpico of UW-Stevens Point, 6-2, 6-0; Beth Erie of St. Olaf, 7-5, 6-0; and Kristin Chamberlain of UW-Whitewater, 7-6, 6-3.

Riordan and Hunt remained undefeated in doubles action this season, topping the UW-River Falls duo of Becky Breise and Sarah VandenHoek. The Blugold combo lost just two games, winning 8-2 in the No. 2 doubles spot.

Singles
Louie Dubinski, Junior (Mukwonago), of UW-La Crosse
Dubinski went 4-0 at No. 4 singles this week, including a pair of conference victories. She defeated Maggie Seitz of UW-Whitewater, 6-4, 6-4, and Emily Bouche of UW-Stevens Point, 6-1, 6-4. Dubinski also beat Sally Fairfield of Beloit, 6-3, 6-0, and Katie Dulmage of Chicago (Ill.), 6-0, 6-1.

The No. 1 doubles combination went 3-0 this week, highlighted by an 8-4 victory over UW-La Crosse's Angie Riedel and Erica Schmelzer. Wilkowski and Chamberlain also had victories over Lawrence, 8-5, and UW-Stevens Point 8-4. The Warhawk duo is now 5-0 in the conference and 8-3 overall with all three losses against regionally ranked opponents.

Leah Baron, Junior (Hermantown, Minn./Proctor-Hermantown), of UW-River Falls
Baron had a solid week for the Falcons at No. 2 singles as she played the deciding match in a 5-4 dual meet victory at UW-Oshkosh. She defeated UW-Oshkosh's Lauren Young, 2-6, 6-4, 6-2, to give the Falcons the win. Baron also upended UW-Stevens Point's Angie Brown, 6-3, 6-1, to improve her overall singles record to 8-2 on the season.

Riedel and Schmelzer swept a pair of No. 1 doubles matches this week in conference play. The duo defeated Katie Kuzma/Kristie Carlson of UW-Eau Claire, 8-2, and Mercedes Blanch/Lauren Young of UW-Oshkosh, 8-3. Riedel and Schmelzer improved to 8-1 on the season with the two victories.

Angie Riedel, Sophomore (Wauwatosa/East), of UW-La Crosse
Riedel advanced to the quarterfinals of the ITA Midwest Regional Championships held September 24-26 at Luther (Iowa). She went 3-1 in singles play, defeating Shweta Khajuria of Grinnell (Iowa), 7-5, 6-4, Amanda Sta Romana of Carthage, 7-6 (5), 6-2, and Kara Smiley of Gustavus Adolphus (Minn.), 3-6, 7-6)4), 10-6, before falling to eventual second-place finisher Jaime Gaard of Gustavus Adolphus in the quarterfinals.

The doubles tandem advanced to the quarterfinal round of the ITA Midwest Regional Championships held September 24-26 at Luther (Iowa) College. They won two of their three matches with their lone setback being an 8-2 loss to top seed and eventual champion Lauren Horn and Kara Smiley of Gustavus Adolphus (Minn.).

Week of Sept. 13 - 19
Singles
Angie Riedel, Sophomore (Wauwatosa/East), of UW-La Crosse
Riedel won the No. 1 singles title at the UW-La Crosse Invitational held September 17-18. She went 3-0 overall and defeated teammate Erica Schmelzer, 6-1, 6-2, in the final. Riedel defeated UW-Oshkosh's Lauren Young in the first round and Winona State's (Minn.) Michelle Bailey in the second round to advance to the finals.

Weissinger and Kersten went undefeated this week at No. 3 doubles. In WIAC play, they beat UW-Whitewater's Andrea Alioto and Katherine Smith, 8-6, giving the Falcons their only point in the dual match. The duo also defeated a St. Mary's (Minn.) team, 8-2, to improve to 4-1 on the season.

Week of Sept. 6 - 12
Singles
Kara Theis, Sophomore (Greendale), of UW-Whitewater
Theis improved her record to 7-0 this week by winning the No. 3 singles title at the Warhawk Invitational on September 11 and claiming a dual match victory against an UW-Eau Claire opponent. At the 34th annual Warhawk Invitational on September 11, Theis claimed the No. 3 singles title, winning matches against Wisconsin Lutheran, UW-La Crosse and UW-Oshkosh, losing only six games in six sets. Theis also defeated UW-Eau Claire's Laura Geissler, 6-3, 6-1 at No. 5 singles in UW-Whitewater's 7-2 dual meet victory on September 10.

Fekete and Mikulecky won the No. 2 doubles crown at the UW-Whitewater Invitational on September 11. The duo went 3-0 in the tournament and defeated UW-Eau Claire's Liz DePrey and Molly Hunt, 3-6, 7-6 (6), 6-2, in the championship match.
