Singles
Jordan Anderson, Junior (Winona, Minn.), of UW-River Falls
Anderson picked up the team’s only point against UW-La Crosse Saturday. She defeated Kristen Mader at No. 1 singles, 7-5, 6-0, to improve to 4-2 in conference dual meets this season.

The Warhawk duo picked up a pair of wins at No. 1 doubles last week. In a 9-0 Warhawk win over Carroll, they defeated Amanda Marunde and Sara Shaft 8-2. In a 5-4 Warhawk victory over UW-Oshkosh, they upended Debra Ashenbrenner and Mercedes Blanch 8-6. Krueger and Wilkowski completed the regular season with a 9-4 dual match record.

Singles
Debra Ashenbrenner, Senior (Menasha), of UW-Oshkosh
Ashenbrenner raised her individual record to 13-3 on the season by defeating opponents in the top singles flight from Lawrence University on October 2, UW-Stout on October 4 and UW-Eau Claire on October 6. Ashenbrenner defeated Adriana Teodoro-Dier of Lawrence University, 6-0, 6-0, Rachael Weber of UW-Stout, 6-3, 6-0, and defending WIAC No. 1 singles champion Alison Hover of UW-Eau Claire, 1-6, 6-4, 6-1. UW-Oshkosh went 2-1 against its three combatants to improve to 6-2 in dual meets this season.

Alison Hover, Senior (St. Cloud, Minn./Tech) & Laurie Alonso, Freshman (Austin, Minn.), of UW-Eau Claire
Hover and Alonso won big conference matches against UW-La Crosse and UW-Oshkosh to help the Blugolds win both matches. The duo defeated La Crosse's Kristin Mader and Erica Schmelzer, 8-6, and then upended the previously undefeated Oshkosh duo of Debra Ashenbrenner and Mercedes Blanch 8-5. Hover and Alonso improved their record to 4-0 on the season.

Tauer won five matches in the Fall Invitational hosted by Gustavus Adolphus (Minn.) and advanced to the final before losing 6-4, 2-6, (10-7) to Tara Huinker from Luther (Iowa). On the way to the finals, Hauer defeated Emily Asboe of St. Olaf (Minn.), Lindsey Miller of St. Catherine (Minn.) and Andrea Trimble and Amanda Roiger both from Luther (Iowa).

At the ITA Midwest Regional, Hollinger and Cadwell lost their opening match, then won four straight matches, battling from behind several times, to win the consolation title. Head coach Tom Gillman pointed out that most of the doubles teams entered in the meet were the school’s No. 1 and No. 2 teams, but this was the Blugolds’ No. 3 squad.

Mercedes Blanch, Sophomore (Huesca, Spain), of UW-Oshkosh
Blanch went undefeated in No. 2 singles matches against opponents from St. Norbert, UW-River Falls and UW-La Crosse to help the Titans to a 2-1 dual record. Blanch raised her singles record to 8-2 on the season by defeating Kahlee Hansen of St. Norbert, 6-4, 6-4, Amanda Gray of UW-River Falls, 6-3, 6-2, and Jessica White of UW-La Crosse, 6-1, 4-6, 6-2.

Ferge and Braam recorded a perfect 3-0 record in competition last week. They earned 8-3 and 8-5 victories over Ripon and UW-River Falls, before pulling out a 9-7 victory on Saturday against UW-Stout.

Laurie Alonso, Freshman (Austin, Minn.), of UW-Eau Claire
Alonso won the No. 2 singles title at the UW-Whitewater Invitational and went 4-0 for the weekend. In dual meet action against UW-Whitewater on September 6, she defeated Jenni Stamm 7-5, 6-2 and also defeated Stamm in the finals of the invitational 6-0, 6-3. Alonso did not lose a set the entire weekend.
