Madison, Wis.--The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire captured its ninth consecutive Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) women’s tennis championship following completion of the conference tournament at Nielsen Tennis Stadium on Sunday, Oct. 21.

The Blugolds won four of six singles flights and one doubles flight en route to the championship. Alison Hover, Jenny Stafford, Megan Tauer and Becky Hollinger claimed singles titles for the Blugolds, while Tara Anderson and Tauer combined to take the No. 2 doubles title.

**The 2001 WIAC Women's Tennis Championship is determined by using a combination of the regular season round-robin dual meet and the conference championship. The finish in the regular season conference standings accounts for one-third of the criteria, while the WIAC championship accounts for the remaining two-thirds.
