Tara Anderson, Freshman (Litchfield, Minn.), of UW-Eau Claire
Anderson posted two conference victories on the week at No. 4 singles. She lost
just one game in the two matches. Anderson defeated Stevens Point’s Amber Wilkowski
6-1, 6-0 and Oshkosh’s Sarah Mariscek 6-0, 6-0.

Weber /Anna Ebert 8-3 at No. 3 doubles this week. With the win over the Stout
duo, Krueger and Steimle improved to 6-0 in conference play.

Week of Oct. 1 - 7
Singles
Maggie Krueger, Junior (Reedsburg), of UW-Whitewater
Krueger posted three victories on the week at No. 6 singles for the Warhawks.
On October 2, Krueger defeated Ripon’s Emily Saletine 6-1, 6-1. In a pair of
conference dual meets over the weekend, she defeated Oshkosh’s Erin Connolly
6-1, 6-1 and Eau Claire’s Lindsay Lee 6-2, 6-1. The victory over Lee, avenged
a loss to her earlier in the season at the Luther (Iowa) Fall Invitational.
Krueger is 5-0 in conference play this season and 8-1 overall.

The No. 2 team finished with a 1-1 record on the week. They picked up a big
win against the Eau Claire duo of Linton and Tauer, 8-5, and lost to NCAA Division
II opponent Winona State (Minn.). The win over Eau Claire at No. 2 doubles was
the first point the team has ever scored against the Blugolds in the past four
seasons. Mulligan and Anderson are 3-1 in conference play this season.

Hover advanced to the semifinals of the ITA Regional, winning her first three
matches in straight sets before losing to second-seeded Ellen Anderson of Gustavus
Adolphus (Minn.) in the semifinals.

Invitational, which is run in conjunction with the ITA Regional. Their four
match victories were by scores of 8-3, 8-3, 8-6 and 9-7, the latter over the
duo of Lindstrom and Bebler from St. Catherine (Minn.).

Becky Stoffel, Junior (Menasha), of UW-Whitewater
Stoffel posted two conference victories at No. 4 singles on the week. She defeated
Stevens Point’s Gina Lamer 6-2, 6-0 on Wednesday in a 8-1 Warhawk win. On Saturday,
in Whitewater’s 5-4 victory over La Crosse, Stoffel defeated Jessica White 6-0,
6-7 (7-4), 6-0 in the determining win of the match with all other match competition
already completed. Stoffel in now 3-0 in conference play on the season at No.
4 singles.

The Blugold duo scored a pair of victories at No. 1 doubles on the week. In
a 6-3 Blugold win against Luther (Iowa), they were down 4-1 in the eight-game
pro set and fought all the way back to win the match 9-8. Earlier in the week,
Hover and Stafford defeated Stout’s Tammy Petcher and Rachael Weber 8-0 in a
9-0 Blugold victory.

Lenart won the No. 1 singles flight championship at the Luther/UW-La Crosse
Invitational at La Crosse. She defeated Lindsay Hagen 3-6, 6-2, 6-4 in the first
round and Beth Huinker 6-3, 6-4 to win the title.

Kill went 2-1 at No. 3 singles at the Warhawk Invitational to help the Eagles
to a second-place team finish. She lost to Erin Ellestad of UW-Whitewater 6-4,
6-3 before defeating Gretchen Weddig of UW-Stevens Point 6-1, 6-4 and Michelle
Rekow of Wisconsin Lutheran 6-1, 6-1.

White and Jorgensen went 2-0 at No. 3 doubles at the Warhawk Invitational to
help the Eagles to a second-place team finish. The duo advanced to the championship
match, but it was cancelled due to rain. White and Jorgensen defeated Laura
Reinbold and Jennifer Sturman of Carthage 6-0, 7-6 in their first match and
Jana Braam and Kim Goron of UW-Stevens Point 6-0, 6-4 in the second match.

Erin Ellestad, Sophomore (Jefferson), of UW-Whitewater
Ellestad defeated Wheaton’s (Ill.) Julie Lory 6-3, 2-6, 6-4 in the deciding
match at No. 3 singles in the Warhawks’ 5-4 win on Sept. 1. She also defeated
Michelle Stecher of Loras (Iowa) 6-2, 6-2, after opening the season with a 6-0,
6-1 loss to Sara Cahoon of Carthage.

with an 8-6 win over Christine Hamm and Kristine Meulendyke of Carthage. Following
an 8-3 loss to Loras, they rebounded for an 8-4 win over Racheal Zorn &
Anne Wischnowski of Wheaton (Ill.).
