Athletes of the Week

Week of April 25 - May 1
Position
Anne Stanislawski, Senior (Amherst), Thirdbase of UW-Oshkosh
Stanislawski hit .542 (13-for-24) with one triple, three home runs and five RBIs as UW-Oshkosh won four of its seven games played during the week. She also scored six runs, had a 1.000 slugging percentage and posted an on-base percentage of .577. During UW-Oshkosh's five games at the WIAC Cluster Tournament, she hit .438 (seven-for-16) with three home runs, four runs scored and three RBIs. Stanislawski's big week included a pair of solo home runs in UW-Oshkosh's 3-1 win over No. 15-ranked UW-Eau Claire. She also belted a solo home run in a 3-2 victory over UW-River Falls. In a non-conference doubleheader with Marian on April 27, she helped the Titans to a pair of wins by batting six-for-eight with two RBIs. UW-Oshkosh completed the regular season in second place for their best finish since 1999 when they also placed second.

McKinney was a perfect 3-0 on the week as the Blugolds registered a 5-1 record on the week and claimed their second consecutive WIAC regular season title. She pitched 18.1 innings on the week and allowed just two unearned runs, 10 hits, one walk and struck out 17 batters. McKinney tossed a complete game, three-hit shutout in a 1-0 win over UW-Stevens Point on April 30 and also secured wins over UW-Superior and UW-Whitewater.

Week of April 18 - 24

Laura Zierler, Freshman (Kaukauna), Thirdbase of UW-Stevens Point
Zierler had a hit in every game as the Pointers rolled to a 6-0 record this week, including a doubleheader sweep at league-leading UW-Oshkosh on April 19. She was two-for-two with one RBI in the first game against the Titans and followed that with a two-for-three performance in the second game. Zierler also had a career-high three hits in a 6-1 victory over St. Norbert on April 21. For the week, she batted .579 (11-for-19) with four runs scored and three RBIs.

Pitcher
Kelly Jablonski, Freshman (Stevens Point/SPASH), Righthanded Pitcher of UW-Stevens Point
Jablonski threw her second no-hitter and first perfect game of her career and didn't give up an earned run in going 3-0 this week. She set down all 15 hitters she faced in an 8-0 five-inning perfect game against Lakeland on April 24. Jablonski struck out four batters in firing the third perfect game in school history. On April 21, she set a school record by pitching 11.0 innings in a single game. She defeated St. Norbert, 3-1, allowing just one run to score on the international tiebreaker rule. For the week, Jablonski pitched 23.0 innings, gave up 13 hits and no earned runs. She struck out nine baters, while walking just one and allowing opponents to bat .165 against her.

Anderson helped UW-Superior to a 3-1 record at the WIAC Cluster Tournament in Oshkosh by batting .545 (six-for-11) with two doubles, one run scored and four RBIs. In the Yellowjackets 5-0 win over UW-Platteville, she was three-for-three with three RBIs, two doubles and one run scored. She was also three-for-three with one RBI in a 7-5 victory over UW-Whitewater.

Pitcher
Ronessa Stampfli, Freshman (Brodhead), Righthanded Pitcher of UW-Oshkosh
Stampfli helped UW-Oshkosh move into first place in the WIAC standings by recording victories in all five of her appearances. Stampfli pitched 29.2 innings against five different opponents, yielding just 14 hits, two runs and four walks while striking out 39 batters. Stampfli opened her activity with a six-hit shutout of UW-Platteville on April 13. She struck out 10 batters in the Titans' 3-0 win. Stampfli followed that performance with an eight-inning four-hit shutout of UW-Stout on April 16. She struck out 12 batters and walked just one in the Titans' 1-0 victory. Stampfli pitched the final 1.2 innings in UW-Oshkosh's 2-1 10-inning victory over nationally-ranked UW-Eau Claire on April 16. She closed the week by allowing one run and three hits to UW-River Falls and one run and one hit to UW-Superior on April 17.

Her week was highlighted by a five-for-five performance against UM-Morris on April 9. She added three RBIs and two runs scored in the contest.

Monahan earned two wins this week, pitching a five-inning no-hitter in UW-La Crosse's 10-0 victory over UW-Stout on April 6. She walked one and struck out two enroute to her first career no-hitter. Monahan then pitched a one-hitter in a 2-0 win at Marian on April, allowing an infield hit. For the week, she pitched 12 innings, allowing no runs, one hits, three walks and adding five strikeouts.

Jakoubek threw an eight-inning no hitter against Dubuque (Iowa) on April 8. She struck out eight batters in the contest, while allowing five walks enroute to the 11th no-hitter in school history.

Farenbaugh helped UW-Eau Claire to a doubleheader sweep over St. Norbert on April 2. In a 13-3 five-inning win over the Green Knights in game one, she was four-for-four with five RBIs, one double, two runs scored and one stolen base. In the Blugolds' 15-3 victory in game two, Farenbaugh was three-for-four with one RBI, three runs scored and one stolen base. She finished the two games seven-for-eight (.875) with six RBIs, five runs scored, two stolen bases and one double.

Jablonski fired a no-hitter in the Pointers' 8-0 victory over Milwaukee School of Engineering on April 3. She tallied three strikeouts in the contest and had a perfect game spoiled only by a catcher's interference call in the fourth inning. It was the 11th no-hitter in school history and first since April 9, 2003 when Karen Guckenberger had a no-hitter against UW-Whitewater.

In 13 games during UW-Superior's spring trip to Florida, Tarasewicz hit .462 (18-39) with 18 runs scored, five doubles, three home runs, three triples and nine RBIs. She accumulated a .974 slugging percentage and had multiple hits in five games, including a three-for-four performance against Macalester (Minn.) on March 24. The Yellowjackets compiled a 9-4 record in their 13 games in Orlando.

McKinney went 4-1 with wins over Eastern Connecticut State, Ramapo (N.J.), Concordia-Moorhead (Minn.) and Fontbonne (Mo.) in UW-Eau Claire's spring trip to Florida. She allowed six earned runs in 38.2 innings pitched for a 1.08 ERA. McKinney registered 33 strikeouts and opponents batted .178 against her. She had a career-high 14 strikeouts in the victory over Concordia-Moorhead.
