Four Earn NSCAA Scholar All-Central Region Status
MADISON, Wis.--Four Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) individuals have been named to the 2009 National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) College Division Women’s Scholar All-Central Region Team.
UW-Eau Claire’s Megan Hillesheim (Jr., defender, 3.86, nursing) and UW-Stevens Point’s Jackie Spees (Sr., midfielder, 3.90, health science) were second team selections, while UW-Oshkosh’s Caitlin Casey (Jr., midfielder, 3.32, business) and UW-Superior’s Elizabeth LeQue (Sr., midfielder, 3.85, exercise science) were honorable mention picks.
To be nominated, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.30 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) throughout her career; start more than 50 percent of all matches and be a significant contributor to the team; be nominated by an institution that is a current NSCAA College Services member; be a junior or above in academic standing at the current institution; be in her second year at the current school if she is a transfer student; and submit an official copy of a certified transcript.
