Four Claim Academic All-District Women's Soccer Accolades
MADISON, Wis.--Four Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) individuals have been named to the 2008 CoSIDA/ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District Five College Division Women’s Soccer Team.
UW-Eau Claire’s Jessica Millard was a first team choice, while the Blugolds’ Liz Kooistra and Allie Rivard, along with UW-Stout’s Kaitlin Arjes were second team selections.
The team is comprised of all NCAA Division II, Division III and NAIA student-athletes from Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana and Minnesota and is voted on by members of the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
Millard, a senior from Madison, Wis. (LaFollette), carries a 3.81 grade point average and is majoring in finance. She was a third team pick in 2006 and is eligible for the Academic All-America Team that will be announced Nov. 18.
Kooistra, a senior from Lakeville, Minn., is majoring in psychology and has a 3.50 grade point average. She was a third team selection last season.
Rivard, a senior from Plymouth, Minn. (Wayzata), was a second team choice in 2005. She maintains a 3.60 grade point average while majoring in biology.
A sophomore from Owatonna, Minn., Arjes is majoring in graphic design and boasts a 4.00 grade point average. She is the only individual on 10-member second team to carry a perfect grade point average.
