Ministry Health Care and Holiday Inn Renew Agreement With WIAC
Madison, Wis.--The Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC)
announced today that Ministry Health Care and Holiday Inn have renewed their
participation in the WIAC Corporate Partner Program for the 2003-04 academic
year.
With the renewals by Holiday Inn and Ministry Health Care, the WIAC has met
its goal of six major corporate partners for this year. American Family Insurance,
U.S. Cellular, Alliant Energy and the Wisconsin Education Association Council
(WEAC) were added recently to the WIAC corporate partner program.
"It is certainly gratifying to have high-profile corporations that are
either headquartered, or have a strong presence, in the State of Wisconsin agree
to support the WIAC through its corporate partner program," commented WIAC
Commissioner, Dr. Gary Karner. "This support, particularly during this
difficult budget period, is a significant factor in retaining the WIAC's status
as the premier Division III conference in the country."
The Holiday Inn partnership provides each of the nine WIAC institutions with
special room rates and incentives for team travel. In return, the 33 participating
Holiday Inn properties in Wisconsin will receive numerous advertising and promotional
opportunities through the conference and its member institutions. As the "Official
Hotel of the WIAC", Holiday Inn properties also will host many of the conference's
meetings and serve as the hotel headquarters for the conference's championship
events and postseason tournaments.
The partnership with Ministry Health Care, which is entering its fourth year,
has had the added benefit of generating a number of community service projects
co-sponsored by Ministry Health Care and student-athletes from the WIAC, including
numerous food drives and an organ-donor campaign.
The WIAC consists of nine institutions from the University of Wisconsin-System
competing at the NCAA Division III level including: UW-Eau Claire, UW-La Crosse,
UW-Oshkosh, UW-Platteville, UW-River Falls, UW-Stevens Point, UW-Stout, UW-Superior
and UW-Whitewater.
