UW-Eau Claire’s Krueger Named To NCAA Division III SAAC
MADISON, Wis.--University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire student-athlete Sam Krueger has been selected to serve a three-year term on the NCAA Division III student-athlete advisory committee (SAAC).
The Division III SAAC is made up of student-athletes assembled to provide insight on the student-athlete experience. The SAAC also offers input on the rules, regulations and policies that affect student-athletes' lives on NCAA member institution campuses. The 24 members of the Division III SAAC earn a spot on the committee by being elected by current SAAC members and being approved by the nominating committee and the management council.
Krueger, a junior from Elkhorn, Wis., and member of the women’s soccer team, will join just 23 other representatives from around the nation this fall on the Division III SAAC. She will represent the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, Midwest Conference and will also help represent the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.
As part of the NCAA Division III SAAC, Krueger will look to help improve the overall student-athlete experience.
"I hope to help to enhance the total student-athlete experience by fostering a positive student-athlete image, while maintaining the tenets of the Division III philosophy," Krueger said. "I also hope to positively aide in the advancement of DIII athletics in bettering its schools, facilities, and every student-athletes’ experience."
This fall, Krueger will also begin her term as UW-Eau Claire SAAC’s president for the 2009-10 season. Previously, she represented the soccer team at meetings while she served secretary last season.
