Robinson Named Interim Media Relations Director At UW-Stevens Point

Stevens Point, Wis.--Jesse Robinson, a recent graduate of University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire, has been selected as the interim athletics media relations director at UW-Stevens Point.

Robinson, a Kewaunee, Wis. native, spent the past two years as a student assistant in the Blugolds' sports information office under 40-year veteran Tim Petermann. Since graduating with a journalism degree in May, Robinson has been working as a part-time sports reporter at the Eau Claire Leader-Telegram. Robinson also interned in the media relations office the past two summers with the Eau Claire Express baseball team of the Northwoods League.

Robinson will be in charge of all publicity and media relations efforts for UW-Stevens Point's 20 varsity athletic teams. He will begin his duties on Oct. 15 and a national search for a full-time director will be conducted in the spring.

Robinson replaces Jim Strick, who was at UW-Stevens Point since June 1999 and recently accepted a position at the University of Minnesota.
