When We Were Young Productions Named Tom Butler Award Recipient

MADISON, Wis.--When We Were Young Productions (WWWYP) is the 2009 recipient of the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Tom Butler Award.

WWWYP has been producing regular-season and championship events in the WIAC since 2006.  These events have appeared on Fox Sports Wisconsin, Fox Sports North and Charter OnDemand.

WWWYP is a leading provider of high school - and small college sports - content and distribution platforms.  Based in Madison, Wis., WWWYP was founded in 2002 by Tim Eichorst and has successfully partnered with NCAA Division III conferences, the NCAA, and a number of high school associations across the country.  In conjunction with high quality production, WWWYP has effectively secured distribution relationships with a number of major cable operators and major sports entities such as Fox Sports Net and Fox College Sports.

The WWWYP full-time staff includes:  President/Owner Tim Eichorst, Area Vice President Tim Knoeck, Controller Trisha Mueller, Producer Amy Johnson, Feature Producer Mitch McDowell, Editor Wes Larson and Broadband Producer Sophia Minnaert.

The Tom Butler Award was established in 1998 and has been given annually to a representative of the print or electronic media for their outstanding coverage of WIAC athletics.  The league’s sports information directors select the winner.  The award is dedicated to Tom Butler, who served the conference faithfully as its sports information director from 1967-96.
