UW-Eau Claire’s Hoeppner Chosen Women’s Basketball Player of the Year; UW-Oshkosh’s Fischer Named Coach of the Year 2/27/2019 2:00:22 PM Printable version of the 2019 All-WIAC Women's Basketball Team MADISON, Wis.--University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire’s Hallee Hoeppner was chosen the Player of the Year to top the individuals selected to the 2019 All-Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Women’s Basketball Team by the league coaches. In addition, UW-Oshkosh’s Brad Fischer was picked the Coach of the Year. Hoeppner is the eighth Blugold to receive the award. She leads the conference with 18.3 points per game, while ranking second with 36.38 minutes per contest, third with 7.8 rebounds per game, sixth with a .481 field goal percentage and .347 three-point field goal percentage, eighth with 19 blocked shots and ninth with a .750 free-throw percentage. Hoeppner reached double-digits in scoring in 22 of 25 games, including a conference-high 36 points against UW-Stout on Jan. 19, 2019. She led the Blugolds in scoring in 14 games and produced seven contests of at least 10 rebounds. UW-Stout’s Kyncaide Diedrich was the lone repeat selection on the first team from a season ago and also secured a spot on the All-Defensive Team for the second straight year. UW-Oshkosh’s Olivia Campbell joined Diedrich as a repeat selection on the all-defensive squad. Fischer was tabbed the Coach of the Year for the third time in his career (2013, 2017) after leading the Titans to their 13th regular-season conference title and fifth tournament championship. UW-Oshkosh also earned a berth into the NCAA Division III Championship for the fifth time in the last six seasons. An All-Sportsmanship Team was chosen for individuals that displayed exemplary sportsmanship throughout the season.
