MADISON, Wis.
--University of Wisconsin-Platteville’s Chas Cross was selected the Player of the Year to lead the 10 individuals chosen to the 2013 All-Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Men’s Basketball Team by the league coaches, while UW-Stevens Point Head Coach Bob Semling was picked the Coach of the Year.

Cross currently leads the WIAC with 15.8 points per game and 8.5 rebounds per game, while ranking second with 46 blocked shots and fourth with a .564 field goal percentage.  He owns a league-best seven double-doubles and scored at least 20 points in nine games this year, including a season-high 27 points against UW-River Falls on Jan. 26.  Cross was an honorable mention selection in 2011.

Cross is the eighth individual in program history to earn the conference’s Player of the Year trophy.

Semling earned the coaching honor for the third time in his career after directing the Pointers to the WIAC regular-season title - the third in the last five years for the program.

The league coaches also selected an inaugural All-Defensive Team that consisted of five members, and an All-Sportsmanship Team was chosen for individuals that displayed exemplary sportsmanship throughout the season.  It included one member from each school.
