Sam Davy, Sophomore (Stevens Point), of UW-Stevens Point
Davy claimed three first-place finishes in a 124-119 dual meet victory over UW-La Crosse on Jan. 30. He finished first in the 100-yard freestyle and the 200-yard freestyle with times of 47.20 and 1:46.09, respectively. Davy also anchored the first-place 400-yard medley relay team than finished with a time of 3:30.08.

Phil Devine, Sophomore (Winnebago, Ill.), of UW-Oshkosh
Devine won the one and three-meter diving events as UW-Oshkosh tallied a 116-94 road victory over Lawrence University on Jan. 27. Devine scored 315.05 points to win the one-meter diving. UW-Oshkosh’s Tim Kuckuk finished second with a score of 236.60. In the three-meter diving, Devine marked a winning score of 350.30 points. Kuckuk placed second with a value of 266.05.

Brent Schwartz, Senior (Waukesha/South), of UW-Stevens Point
Schwartz finished first in the 200-yard Breaststroke at the UW-Stevens Point Invitational with a time of 2:09.53. He also recorded a pair of second-place finishes in the 400-yard medley relay and the 200-yard medley relay with times of 3:36.09 and 1:39.00, respectively. Schwartz added a third-place finish in the 100-yard breaststroke.

Badilla took first place in the one-meter diving event with a score of 401.45, while taking second place in the three-meter diving event with a score of 467.30 as the Blugolds took fourth place out of seven teams at the UW-Stevens Point Invitational. His mark in the one-meter event was a “B-cut” score for the NCAA Division III Championship.

Dalton Anderson, Freshman (Elkhorn), of UW-Oshkosh
Anderson swam to five first-place finishes as UW-Oshkosh competed against Ripon College on Jan. 9 and UW-Stevens Point and UW-Whitewater on Jan. 16. In UW-Oshkosh’s 153-58 home win over Ripon College, Anderson won the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 59.21 and the 200-yard freestyle with a performance of 1:48.45. Swimming at a triangular hosted by UW-Whitewater, Anderson recorded winning times of 52.48 in the 100-yard butterfly, 2:02.86 in the 200-yard butterfly and 2:01.84 in the 200-yard individual medley. The Titans suffered defeats of 207-86 to UW-Stevens Point and 190-93 to UW-Whitewater.

Devine recorded three first-place finishes in UW-Oshkosh meets against Ripon College on Jan. 9 and UW-Stevens Point and UW-Whitewater on Jan. 16. In UW-Oshkosh’s 153-58 home win over Ripon College, Devine captured first place in the one-meter diving with a score of 277.55 points. Against UW-Stevens Point and host UW-Whitewater, Devine compiled winning point totals of 293.60 in the one-meter diving and 313.25 in the three-meter diving. The Titans suffered losses of 207-86 to UW-Stevens Point and 190-93 to UW-Whitewater.

Swimming
Spencer Loch, Sophomore (Verona/Madison Memorial), of UW-La Crosse
Loch captured the 50-yard freestyle (21.86) and 100-yard freestyle (48.31) in UW-La Crosse’s 152-90 dual victory at UW-Eau Claire on Dec. 12. He was also on the Eagles’ winning 200-yard medley relay (1:37.89).

Diving
Nick Badilla, Freshman (Appleton/North), of UW-Eau Claire
Despite the Blugolds’ 152-90 loss to UW-La Crosse on Dec. 12, Badilla took first place in both diving events. He earned the top spot in the one-meter diving event with a score of 270.00, while also placing first in the three-meter event with a score of 298.95, a national qualifying mark.

Week of Nov. 30 - Dec. 6
Swimming
Dalton Anderson, Freshman (Elkhorn), of UW-Oshkosh
Anderson won two events and finished second in two others at the Falcon Invitational held Dec. 4-5 in Minneapolis, Minn. He took first place in the 100-yard butterfly and 200-yard individual medley with times of 51.95 and 1:57.80, respectively. His performance in the 200-yard individual medley set a school record. Anderson placed second in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 48.14 and the 200-yard butterfly with a school-record swim of 1:56.93. He also helped the Titans finish eighth in the 400-yard freestyle with a time of 3:23.82 and the 400-yard medley relay with a performance of 3:48.74.

Devine had little difficulty in recording a pair of first-place finishes at the UW-Stevens Point Diving Invitational on Dec. 5. He scored 498.35 points to win the one-meter diving. Jeff Meyer of UW-Stevens Point finished second with 420.5 points. In the three-meter diving, Devine tallied a winning score of 521.7 points. Casey Chamberlain of UW-La Crosse finished second with 380.7 points.

Matt Diehl, Senior (Prairie du Sac/Sauk Prairie), of UW-La Crosse
Diehl won three individual events in UW-La Crosse’s dual victory over UW-Oshkosh on Nov. 21. He captured the 100-yard freestyle (48.76) and 200-yard freestyle (1:50.62) as well as the 200-yard breaststroke (2:18.92).

Devine dove to a pair of first-place finishes in UW-Oshkosh’s 162-72 road loss to UW-La Crosse on Nov. 21. Devine won the one-meter diving with a score of 296.00 and the three-meter diving with a school-record mark of 340.10. Both performances surpassed the qualifying standard for the NCAA Division III Championship. The three-meter diving featured five participants and the one-meter diving four.

Swimming
Brent Schwartz, Senior (Waukesha/South), of UW-Stevens Point
Schwartz secured two individual wins at the Border Battle hosted by UW-Stevens Point on Nov. 13-14. He lead a trio of Pointers by winning the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 59.76, almost a full second ahead of the second- place finisher. Schwartz also captured the win in the 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 2:12.35.

Dembski won the 1,650-yard freestyle (17:18.94) and finished second in the 400-yard individual medley (4:36.32) at the Northfield (Minn.) Invitational on Nov. 7.

Edgerle won the one-meter competition (401.20 points) and placed second in the three-meter competition (411.90) at the Northfield (Minn.) Invitational on Nov. 7.

Swimming
Kevin O’Brien, Senior (Hastings, Minn.), of UW-River Falls
O’Brien set a school record in the team’s 151-110 win at Macalester College (Minn.) on Oct. 30. He established the record in the 100-yard butterfly and finished first with a time of 54.2. O’Brien won the 200-yard individual medley in 2:11.44 and the 50-yard butterfly in 24.77, while being a member of the 200-yard medley relay team that placed first in 1:45.75.

Diving
Tim Kuckuk, Freshman (Plymouth), of UW-Oshkosh
Kuckuk won both diving events as UW-Oshkosh opened its season with a 109-95 victory over Carroll University (Wis.) on Oct. 31 in Oshkosh. He posted winning scores of 224.43 in the one-meter diving and 171.30 in the three-meter diving. Arthur Thomas of Carroll University finished second in both events, counting 168.23 points in the one-meter diving and 155.25 in the three-meter diving.

Week of Oct. 12 - 25
Swimming
Ben Macalalad, Junior (Wausau/East), of UW-Eau Claire
With the Blugolds defeating NCAA Division II opponent Minnesota State University-Mankato 124-117 on Oct. 16, Macalalad won both the 500-yard freestyle and 1,000-yard freestyle. He finished the 1,000-yard event in a time of 10:29.74, almost 20 seconds ahead of the rest of the field, while he won the 500-yard with a time of 5:04.02.

Nick Badilla, Freshman (Appleton/North), of UW-Eau Claire
Badilla helped the Blugolds to a 124-117 victory over NCAA Division II Minnesota State University-Mankato on Oct. 16, winning both the one and three-meter dives. In the one-meter, he won with 221.5 points, while he took the top spot in the three-meter event with 220.75.
