Week of Oct. 26 - Nov. 1
Offense
Kyle Hoerter, Sophomore (Stevens Point/SPASH), Midfielder of UW-Platteville
Hoerter scored in two matches, leading the Pioneers to a 1-0-1 record during the week. He dribbled through traffic and scored with 4:30 remaining in regulation, enabling UW-Platteville to tie the University of Dubuque (Iowa) 1-1 in a match that the Pioneers eventually won 2-1. Against UW-Oshkosh, Hoerter scored on a rebound shot at 69:37, giving the Pioneers a 2-1 lead in a match that ended in a 2-2 tie. Both Dubuque and UW-Oshkosh have 13-3-2 records.

Fitzer tallied shutouts in both matches during the week to finalize a 332-minute scoreless streak over UW-Superior’s last four matches. He produced a shutout on Oct. 28, in the Yellowjackets' 0-0 tie against regional rival College of St. Scholastica (Minn.). Claiming 14 saves, Fitzer's biggest moment came when he blocked a penalty kick in the second half. He again came up big on Oct. 31, in UW-Superior’s 1-0 victory over Lawrence University, adding three saves.

Week of Oct. 19 - 25
Offense
Garrett O’Brien, Sophomore (Shoreview, Minn./Mounds View), of UW-Oshkosh
O’Brien scored three goals and tallied two assists as UW-Oshkosh posted a 9-0 victory over Finlandia University (Mich.) on Oct. 20 in Hancock, Mich. O’Brien counted all three of his goals and both of his assists in the first half as the Titans took an 8-0 lead to intermission. O’Brien, who entered the contest with only one goal on the season, gave UW-Oshkosh leads of 2-0, 5-0 and 7-0 with his goals. He assisted on the Titans’ first and third goals. He finished the match with six shots. O’Brien didn’t play in UW-Oshkosh’s 2-1 road loss to No. 22-ranked Carroll University on Oct. 24.

Ben Mooney, Junior (Spooner), Defender of UW-Superior
Mooney played 200 minutes of solid defensive soccer in the Yellowjackets' matches during the week. He was credited with starting much of UW-Superior's offensive efforts against UM-Morris on Oct. 20 with quick plays out of the defense. He was also a big part of UW-Superior's shut-out tie against St. Olaf College (Minn.) on Oct. 24. Mooney successfully shut down much of the Oles offense from on his side despite poor field conditions. He was especially effective in the Yellowjackets' overtime efforts.

Buchholz had two goals and an assist leading the Warhawks to a 3-0 win at North Park University (Ill.) on Oct. 18. He currently has nine goals in 14 matches to lead the conference in goals per game.

Offense
Dan Montanye, Junior (Mukwonago), Midfielder of UW-Whitewater
Montanye led UW-Whitewater to a pair of victories during the week over conference opponent Finlandia University (Mich.) and regional power Gustavus Adolphus College (Minn.). In each of the matches, he tallied a goal and an assist, totaling two goals and two assists on the week. The Warhawks beat the Lions, 7-0, and the Gusties 2-0.

Dan Warnke, Sophomore (Burnsville, Minn.) Defender of UW-Superior
Warnke added the necessary balance for the Yellowjackets during the week when he was moved from his usual center-defender spot to the outside of the defense. He provided the Yellowjackets with excellent defense in their 3-1 loss to No. 20-ranked UW-Oshkosh on Oct. 10, and was credited with keeping the Yellowjackets in the match. Warnke also scored the Yellowjackets’ lone goal against the Titans after moving forward on a Yellowjacket free kick in the second half.

Sowe started a chain of goals for UW-Oshkosh as the Titans defeated previously once-beaten St. Norbert College, 5-0, on Sept. 30 in Oshkosh. He gave the Titans a 1-0 lead when he sailed a 20-yard kick into the goal at the 40:52 mark of the contest. The shot was one of two taken by Sowe in the match.

Heller helped UW-Platteville to a 2-0-1 record during the week by spearheading a defense that allowed just one goal. The Pioneers tied UW-Whitewater 1-1, beat UW-Superior 1-0 and Finlandia University (Mich.) 10-0, giving them a 2-0-1 conference record.

Shuldheisz scored a goal and had two assists in UW-Superior’s 5-2 victory over Northland College on Sept. 22. He also tallied a goal and an assist in the Yellowjackets’ 6-2 triumph over North Central University (Minn.) on Sept. 24.

Krueger played 75 minutes of the match against Carroll University (Wis.) on Sept. 22, conceding one goal and making five saves in a 4-2 Warhawk win. He made seven saves against Dominican University (Ill.) on Sept. 24, several of which came in very critical moments keeping Dominican from adding to their score and driving the Warhawks to a 1-1 draw.

Buchholz scored three goals and had two assists in UW-Whitewater wins over UW-Superior on Sept. 12 and Wartburg College (Iowa) on Sept. 13. He had two goals and two assists in a 4-0 triumph over the Yellowjackets and one goal in a 4-1 victory over the Knights. UW-Whitewater dropped a 3-0 decision to Illinois Wesleyan University on Sept. 10.

Stadler anchored a defense that allowed just five shots in wins over Hamline University (Minn.) on Sept. 12 and Grinnell College (Iowa) on Sept. 13. The performance helped UW-Oshkosh win the Valley Cup Invitational. Stadler also scored the second goal in UW-Oshkosh’s 2-0 win over Grinnell College. The Titans defeated Hamline University, 3-0. The shutouts were the Titans’ second and third of the season.

Week of Aug. 31 - Sept. 6
Offense
Nic Polzin, Senior (Duluth, Minn.), Midfielder of Finlandia University (Mich.)
Polzin opened the scoring this season for the Lions with a nifty free kick goal this week. On Sept. 1 against Northland College, Polzin scored on a 25-yard free kick to the right side of the net to tie the game going into the half. The goal gave the Lions an opportunity to stay in the game and force an eventual overtime period. Polzin also played an important role in creating scoring opportunities in other matches against St. Norbert College and Defiance College (Ohio).
