Dan Sutton, Senior (West Bend/East), of UW-La Crosse
Sutton won the 5,000-meter run at the Musco Twilight Open at the University
of Iowa on May 1. He set a school record with a winning time of 14:26.23, breaking
the 18-year record of Dave Valentine (14:26.57). Sutton also provisionally qualified
for the NCAA Division III Championships.

John Schuna, Junior (Hudson), of UW-Eau Claire
Schuna set a school record in the shot put competition with a throw of 17.71
meters (58-1 ¼) to take first place in the event at the WIAC Qualifer
in La Crosse on April 30. The throw is the second best in the country this year
and automatically qualifies him for national competition. Schuna also took first
place in the discus throw with a distance of 48.09 meters (157-09). The throw
provisionally qualifies him for national competition.

Curt Johnson, Senior (DeForest), of UW-Stevens Point
Johnson was the highest placing NCAA Division III runner in the Invitational
10,000-meter run at the Drake Relays. He placed third overall, behind two Colorado
State runners, with a time of 30:11.48. Johnson automatically qualified for
the NCAA Division III Championships, eclipsing the qualifying standard by nearly
13 seconds.

Schmidt won the pole vault in the University & College Division at the prestigious

Todd Gannon, Senior (Woodstock, Ill.), of UW-Whitewater
Gannon won the long jump and triple jump at the Meet of Champions hosted by
Augustana (Ill.) on April 17. His mark of 23-11 3/4 meters in the long jump
was the best in the NCAA Division III this season and automatically qualified
him for the NCAA Division III Championships. Gannon's leap of 46-8 3/4 in the
triple jump provisionally qualified him for the national meet.

Kleimenhagen finished second in the 5,000-meter run at the Wartburg (Iowa) Select
Invitational on April 10. His time of 14:49.06 provisionally qualified him for
the NCAA Division III Championships.

John Schuna, Junior (Hudson), of UW-Eau Claire
Schuna took first place in the shot put, while finishing second in the discus
at the three-team Phil Esten Challenge on April 10 in La Crosse, Wis. His toss
of 56-8 3/4 in the shot put eclipsed the NCAA Division III automatic qualifying
standard and is currently the second-best throw in Division III. In the discus,
Schuna went 152-2 to finish in second place.

Rock won the 200-meter dash at the Missouri Relays in Columbia, Mo. with a NCAA
Division III automatic qualifying time of 20.85. His performance was the best
in NCAA Division III this season.

Chris Jensen, Senior (Lake Geneva/Badger), of UW-Oshkosh
Jensen recorded the best effort in the NCAA Division III this season by throwing
the discus 166-8 at the North Central (Ill.) triangular on April 3. His effort
in the event surpassed the provisional qualifying standard for the NCAA Division
III Championship. Jensen also finished second in the shot put with a toss of
48-0 3/4 as UW-Oshkosh placed second in the triangular with 158.50 points.
