UW-La CrosseUW-La Crosse - Distance Medley Relay Team - Ryan Mendez, Sophomore, Black River Falls; Dallas Vincent, Junior, Oakfield (Mayville); Zach Wilhelmy, Freshman, La Crosse (Aquinas); Mitch Wilson, Freshman, La Crosse (Central)
The quartet won the distance medley relay at the Eastbay/UW-Stevens Point Invitational on Feb. 21 with a NCAA Division III provisional qualifying time of 10:00.73.  Their time currently ranks as the third-fastest in the country this season.

Ludtke threw to a distance of 56-8 3/4 in winning the 35-pound weight throw at the UW-Oshkosh Invitational held Feb. 21.  Ludtke, who defeated 18 other participants, surpassed the provisional qualifying standard for the NCAA Division III Championship with his throw.

Week of Feb. 9 - 15

Willy KaulWilly Kaul, Senior (Menomonee Falls), of UW-Oshkosh
Kaul recorded the fastest indoor 5,000-meter run time in WIAC history when he finished third in a field of 40 participants in the event at the Iowa State University Track & Field Classic on Feb. 14.  Kaul ran to a time of 14:07.14, with his nation-leading performance surpassing the automatic qualifying standard for the NCAA Division III Championship.  His effort would have eclipsed the provisional qualifying standard for the NCAA Division I Championship.

Johnson eclipsed the automatic qualifying standard in the weight throw for the NCAA Division III Championship at the Nike/Impact Sports UW-Platteville Invitational on Feb. 14.  His fling of 60-11 1/4 topped the field of 35 competitors.

Keith IngramKeith Ingram, Sophomore (Milwaukee/Riverside University), of UW-Stevens Point
Ingram recorded a pair of first-place finishes as UW-Stevens Point won the 15-team Pointer Invitational.  He broke the school record enroute to winning the 55-meter dash with a time of 6.38.  His performance surpassed the NCAA Division III provisional qualifying mark and ranks as the fourth-best time in the country.  Ingram broke another school record as he won the 200-meter dash with a time of 21.98.

Daniel DrewekDaniel Drewek, Freshman (Athens), of UW-Stout
Drewek earned a trip to the NCAA Division III Championship by hitting the automatic qualifying height in the pole vault at the Border Battle hosted by UW-Superior on Feb. 7.  He matched the automatic qualifying height of 16-7 1/4 and set a new school record to win the event at the five-team meet.  Drewek broke Jeff Rotering's 2002 record of 16-3 1/4.

Vincent won the mile run at the Minnesota State Open on Jan. 31 with a NCAA Division III provisional qualfying time of 4:11.49.  He currently ranks third in the nation in the event.

Riley won the shot put at the UW-Stout Warren Bowlus Open on Jan. 31 with a NCAA Division III provisional qualifying mark of 51-11.  He currently ranks third in the nation in the shot put.

Aron KehoeAron Kehoe, Sophomore (Monroe), of UW-Whitewater
Kehoe provisionally qualified for the NCAA Division III Championship after winning the 800-meter run at the UW-Whitewater Invitational on Jan. 24.  His time of 1:52.96 ranks as the best time in the NCAA Division III this season.  Kehoe also anchored the 4x400-meter relay squad that posted a first-place time of 3:26.08.

Jordan won the long jump as UW-Oshkosh won its own five-team invitational on Jan. 23.  He leaped 23-4 3/4 to edge eight other competitors.  His performance ranks second in the NCAA Division III.  Jordan’s effort also surpassed the provisional qualifying standard for the NCAA Division III Indoor Championship.

UW-Eau ClaireBrent Kann, Junior (Rice Lake), of UW-Eau Claire
Kann finished second in the one-mile run with NCAA Division III provisional qualifying time of 4:14.79 at the Blugold Open on Jan. 16.  The Blugolds won the meet with 233 points.

Sam JohnsonSam Johnson, Senior (Deer Park/Amery), of UW-Eau Claire
Johnson registered a pair of first-place finishes at the Blugold Open on Jan. 16, that UW-Eau Claire won with 233 points.  In the weight throw, he produced a NCAA Division III provisional qualifying distance of 59-2 – also the top throw in the NCAA Division III this season.  Johnson also won the shot put with a distance of 49-0 3/4.
