UW-Stevens Point’s 4x400-meter relay team--Brad Koback, Senior, Amherst; Adam Lang, Sophomore, Sheboygan (Lutheran); Joshua Schwinn, Freshman, Howards Grove; Nicholas Ver Duin, Senior, Howards Grove
The quartet finished first at the Pointer Invitational on Feb. 23 with a time of 3:18.03.  Their performance currently ranks as the fastest time in the country this season.

Riley won the shot put at the University of Wisconsin Badger Open with a mark of 55-2.  He now ranks third on the NCAA Division III performance list.

Week of Feb. 11 - 17
Track
Willy Kaul, Junior (Menomonee Falls/Milwaukee Lutheran), of UW-Oshkosh
Kaul ran to the fastest converted 5,000-meter run time in the NCAA Division III this season with his performance at the Warhawk Classic on Feb. 15.  Kaul outran 30 competitors in the event, with his time of 14:22.99 surpassing the automatic qualifying standard for the NCAA Division III Championship.  Kaul’s run also established a Kachel Fieldhouse record.

Competing at the Impact Sports/Nike UW-Platteville Open on Feb. 16, Johnson place second in the weight throw with a fling of 59-8 1/4.  His throw provisionally qualified him for the NCAA Division III Championship and ranks as the best in the conference this season, while ranking fourth on the NCAA list.

UW-La Crosse’s Distance Medley Relay Team – Kevin Oelstrom, Senior, Hales Corners (Whitnall); Adam Kleinmaus, Senior, New Berlin (Waukesha Catholic Memorial); Andrew Boldt, Senior, Stillwater, Minn.; Paul Zdroik, Senior, Stevens Point
The quartet won at the Wartburg College (Iowa) Select on February 9 with a NCAA Division III automatic qualifying time of 9:57.02.  The relay time is also a school record and the best in country this season.

Dan Hytinen, Senior (South Milwaukee), of UW-Whitewater
Hytinen won the shot put at the Hawk Invitational on February 8 with a NCAA provisional qualifying heave of 52-7 1/4.  His mark is the best in the WIAC this season and ranks sixth in the NCAA Division III.  Hytinen also finished third in the 35-pound weight throw with a fling of 50-1 1/4.

Week of Jan. 28 - Feb. 3
Track
Keith Ingram, Freshman (Milwaukee/Riverside University), of UW-Stevens Point
Ingram captured two individual events and was on the winning 1,600-meter relay team as the Pointers captured the Todd Metzger Invitational at Carthage College.  He won the 55-meter dash with a time of 6.52 and captured the 200-meter dash in 22.63.  The Pointers’ 1,600-meter relay team won with a time of 3:30.84.  Ingram’s performance in the 200-meter dash ranks first on the WIAC honor roll, while his time in the 55-meter is second.

Jon Schellin, Senior (Columbus), of UW-Whitewater
Competing at the UW-Whitewater Invitational on January 26, Schellin finished first in the 55-meter hurdles with a school-record time of 7.51.  His performance ranks as the best in the NCAA Division III this season and automatically qualified him for the national championship.

Matt Kramer, Senior (Cloquet, Minn.), of UW-Superior
Kramer ran a NCAA Division III provisional qualifying time of 1:53.90 in the 800-meter run at the Minnesota Open on January 19.  He finished second in the race and was the lone NCAA Division III competitor in an event that featured 19 participants.

Corey Digman, Junior (Platteville), of UW-Platteville
Digman threw the shot put a winning distance of 55-5 3/4 to provisionally qualify for the NCAA Division III Championship at the Impact Sports/Nike UW-Platteville Open on January 19.  He also won the shot put with a heave of 47-11 3/4.

Week of Jan. 7 - 13
Track
Brent Jude, Sophomore (Milwaukee/Vincent), of UW-Oshkosh
Jude won two events as UW-Oshkosh opened its 2008 season with a 100-56 victory over the University of Chicago (Ill.) on January 12.  He took first place in the 55-meter dash with a time of 6.57 and the 200-meter dash with a performance of 23.00.  Both times were personal bests.

Daniel Drewek, Freshman (Athens), of UW-Stout
Drewek reached an NCAA Division III provisional qualifying height in the pole vault to place fifth at the Northwest Open at the University of Minnesota on January 12.  He cleared a height of 15-6 1/4.
