Hole-By-Hole Yardage/Description
*Hole descriptions provided by Northern Bay Resort
Hole 1--292 yards (Par 4)
Players have the option of laying up in front of the bunker on the right side of the fairway, and away from the pair of bunkers on the left; or they can risk trying to clear all the bunkers. Wind direction, speed and hole location will dictate what strategy is chosen. The green is a steep back to front slope.
Hole 2--136 yards (Par 3)
The longest Par 3 on the course. A slight ridge protects the front part of this green. Club selection is critical here to carry the ball to safety. A well placed tee shot to the center of the green assures par.
Hole 3--158 yards (Par 3)
The hole is played entirely over water, which eventually recedes to the left. Club selection is important as two bunkers guard the right side of the green. A severely sloped green from right to left makes par a great score here.
Hole 4--480 yards (Par 5)
A slightly elevated tee, with the landing area shaped by deciduous trees on the left and two bunkers on the right. A stream divides the landing area from the green, although it shouldn’t come into play. The green is protected by two front bunkers; so select plenty of club for your second shot approach.
Hole 5--323 yards (Par 4)
Take aim at the right edge of the first bunker beyond the fairway with a 3-wood. Try not to cut the dogleg - it doesn’t pay. Approach shot plays somewhat longer than the actual yardage and the green is tightly bunkered left and right.
Hole 6--361 yards (Par 4)
The tee brings the bunkers into play, which are approximately 280-290 yards off the tee. A long iron second shot down the hill must avoid a creek on the right and stay short of the pond that guards this small green. The front right pin is the most challenging.
Hole 7--379 yards (Par 4)
Slight dogleg right. A successful tee shot should favor the left side of the fairway. Pin positioning will dictate how aggressive the second shot can be. A matching set of bookend bunkers protects both sides of this elusive green.
Hole 8--485 yards (Par 5)
A reachable Par 5 for the long hitter. A left center tee shot is ideal on this fairway. Those who gamble here should be aware of the four pot bunkers that guard the left side of this green. Those who lay up will have a reasonably short approach to an elevated two-tiered green. Birdies are available here.
Hole 9--378 yards (Par 4)
A straight forward Par 4 demands two good shots to reach the green. Off the tee, favor the right center of the fairway to a generous landing area. The green is well bunkered in the rear and left side.
Front Nine Yardage--2,992 yards (Par 36)
Hole 10--115 yards (Par 3)
Water, Water Everywhere! This island green is 90 feet deep, 87 feet wide across the back and 50 feet wide across the front. Most players have a short to mid-iron to challenge them. Check the wind before choosing your weapon. Good Luck!
Hole 11--465 yards (Par 5)
An accurate tee shot to the center of the fairway sets up players to go for the green. A tributary to Rae's Creek winds in front of the green, and behind the putting surface are four safety bunkers.
Hole 12--329 yards (Par 4)
The famous Church Pews on the left and severe fairway bunkers on the right make for a difficult driving hole. A good drive will set the player up with a mid-iron to an elevated but fairly flat green that slopes slightly away from the player.
Hole 13--373 yards (Par 4)
This Par 4 is a slight dogleg to the left. The right hand fairway bunker sets 250 yards out from the back tees. An ideal drive would be left center of this fairway. A well placed iron shot will avoid the two bunkers protecting the right side of this green.
Hole 14--347 yards (Par 4)
This short picturesque Par 4 features a tree lined fairway down the left side. A well placed tee shot carries the corner and sets up an opportunity for a birdie with a short iron. Danger lurks, however, with four blind pot bunkers guarding the right side of this green.
Hole 15--454 yards (Par 5)
Long three-shot Par 5 puts a premium on accuracy off the tee. Positioning the second shot through this narrow tree lined fairway will help your approach avoid the kidney shaped bunker that cradles the right portion of the green.
Hole 16--358 yards (Par 4)
There is a slight dogleg to the right on this long Par 4. The tee shot should favor the left center of this fairway, thus avoiding two bunkers that compliment the right side. A mid to long iron second shot plays downhill through a chute to this narrow green sloping back to front.
Hole 17--130 yards (Par 3)
This challenging Par 3 has two large white pines guarding the right side of this hole. Check wind direction and choose enough club to avoid the bunker guarding the right side of the green. Birdie opportunities are lurking here!
Hole 18--400 yards (Par 4)
Tee shots on this great finishing hole must find the fairway to give you a chance to get home in two. From the tee, favor the fairway's left side. Then take enough club to carry the lake. Shots hit over or left of this green will find a bunker or heavy grass. Take a deep breath and fire away!
Back Nine Yardage--2,971 yards (Par 36)
Total 18-Hole Yardage--5,963 yards (Par 72)
