UW-Stevens Point’s Jenkins and UW-Whitewater’s Schebler Earn AFCA All-America Honors
MADISON, Wis.--University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point’s Jared Jenkins and UW-Whitewater’s Jeff Schebler have been named to the 2009 American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) NCAA Division III All-America Team.
This marks the first time since 2005 that the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference has landed two players on the AFCA All-America squad.
Jenkins, a junior punter from Milwaukee, Wis. (Rufus King), is the fourth individual in program history to earn AFCA recognition. He joins Chuck Braun (1981), Randy Simpson (1994) and Clint Kriewaldt (1998) as recipients of the honor.
A senior placekicker from Davenport, Iowa (Assumption), Schebler’s selection marks the third straight season the Warhawks have had an individual claim AFCA All-America status. UW-Whitewater has had eight players combine to win 10 All-America plaques from the AFCA.
