UW-Stevens Point and UW-Whitewater Earn NCAA Football Bids
MADISON, Wis.--For the third consecutive season, two teams will represent the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) in the NCAA Division III Football Championship.
UW-Stevens Point (9-1) received an automatic, while defending national champion UW-Whitewater (9-1) secured one of six at-large spots into the 32-team field. The remaining three berths were awarded to teams from non-qualifying conferences or independents.
The Pointers and Warhawks shared the WIAC title, but UW-Stevens Point secured the automatic bid due to their 17-16 victory over UW-Whitewater Oct. 25.
UW-Stevens Point will host Wartburg College (Iowa) (8-2), while UW-Whitewater will host St. John’s University (Minn.) (8-2) in first round matchups that will be conducted Nov. 22.
