Geldernick rushed for a season-high 149 yards and one touchdown on 23 carries (6.5 average) in UW-La Crosse’s 31-20 win at UW-Oshkosh.   He scored on an eight-yard run in the third quarter.  Geldernick recorded his ninth career 100-yard rushing game (tied for fourth in school history).  He also moved into seventh in career rushing at UW-La Crosse with 2,274 yards.

Czys recorded the conference’s highest single-game tackle total this season with 18 tackles (11 solo, seven assisted) in UW-Stevens Point’s 20-19 win at UW-Stout.  He helped the Pointer defense force six turnovers in the contest.   Czys forced a fumble early in the fourth quarter to help UW-Stevens Point maintain a 20-17 advantage.  He leads the league with 108 tackles this season.

Rude was four-of-four on extra-point attempts and converted a 33-yard field goal in UW-La Crosse’s 31-20 triumph at UW-Oshkosh.  His 33-yard field goal gave the Eagles a 31-20 lead with 5:12 remaining in the contest.  Rude is 17-of-17 on extra-point attempts and three-of-three on field goal attempts this year.

Week of Oct. 30 - Nov. 5
Offense
Andy Moriarty, Junior (Mequon/Homestead), Running Back of UW-Oshkosh
Moriarty became UW-Oshkosh’s all-time leading rusher with his 200-yard, three-touchdown performance in the Titans’ 25-21 victory at UW-Eau Claire on Nov. 4.  He carried the football 36 times, including touchdown runs of three yards in the first quarter and three and four yards in the fourth.  His four-yard plunge with 3:42 to play gave the Titans a 24-21 lead.  Moriarty also ran for a two-point conversion in the fourth period.  He reached 200 yards rushing for the third time in his 30-game career.  Moriarty has totaled 921 yards rushing this season and 2,755 for his career.  His career total is a UW-Oshkosh record, surpassing the old mark of 2,706 set by Ron Cardo in 1965 and 1968 to 1970.

Czys led the UW-Stevens Point defense with 12 tackles, including eight solo stops, and also recovered a fumble in the Pointers’ 31-28 win over UW-Platteville on Nov. 4.  His fumble recovery in the third quarter stopped a UW-Platteville drive that reached the UW-Stevens Point 38-yard line.  The Pointer defense limited the Pioneers to 77 rushing yards in the contest.  It marked the fifth straight game of 10-plus tackles for Czys, who leads the league with 90 tackles this season.

Genslinger rushed for a UW-Platteville record 285 yards and scored all four touchdowns in a 28-10 win over UW-River Falls, the Pioneers’ first win over the Falcons since 1992.  He scored two one-yard touchdowns in the first half, giving UW-Platteville a 14-3 lead.  Genslinger then exploded for 208 yards in the second half, including an eight-yard touchdown run in the third quarter and the clinching score, a 69-yard touchdown run with 3:28 remaining.  He broke the school record by 51 yards and averaged 11.0 yards per carry, while losing only one yard all afternoon.

Kleppe was credited with 10 total tackles, including 5.5 tackles for losses of 39 yards and all three of the team’s quarterback sacks in UW-Whitewater’s 7-3 victory at No. 6-ranked Mary Hardin-Baylor (Texas).  The Warhawk defense limited the Crusaders to 204 yards of total offense and season-lows of three points and 49 rushing yards in the contest.   Mary Hardin-Baylor entered the game averaging 35.6 points, 201.0 rushing yards and 307.9 yards of total offense.

Nagan had eight of his nine punts land inside the 20-yard line in UW-La Crosse’s 30-14 win at UW-Stout on Oct. 28.  His nine kicks averaged 31.8 yards as the Eagles continually pinned the Blue Devils deep inside their own territory with their average field position in the first half being their own 15-yard line.

Justin Jacobs, Senior (Sun Prairie), Quarterback of UW-Whitewater
Jacobs led UW-Whitewater to a 49-21 triumph at UW-Platteville on Oct. 21 to help the Warhawks remain in first place in the league standings.   He completed 26-of-37 passes for 342 yards and a school-record five touchdowns in the contest.  His five touchdown passes equals a school record that has been accomplished by two other players and the third time in his career that he has matched the mark.  Jacobs had touchdown passes covering 80, 17 and 18-yards in the first quarter to help UW-Whitewater to a 21-7 advantage after the first stanza.  He added a two-yard toss in the second quarter and a 12-yard strike in the fourth.

Berg helped UW-Stevens Point to a 27-24 overtime win over UW-Oshkosh at Goerke Field on Oct. 21.  He had a game-high 13 tackles (including nine solo) in the contest, two tackles for loss, two quarterback sacks and forced a pair of fumbles that were both returned for touchdowns.  Berg’s 13 tackles were also a career-high.  In the second quarter, he streaked in on a blitz and caused a fumble that he also returned 25 yards for a touchdown that trimmed the Pointers’ deficit to 14-10 with the ensuing extra-point attempt.  Berg caused another fumble in the third quarter when he sacked the quarterback and the loose ball was picked up by a teammate and returned eight yards for a touchdown to give the Pointers a 23-17 advantage.

Kroll punted eight times for an average of 46.8 yards in UW-River Falls’ 24-20 come-from-behind win over UW-Stout on Oct. 21.  He had three punts over 50 yards with a long of 68 yards in the contest and had one punt downed inside the UW-Stout 20-yard line.   The Blue Devils returned just one punt for 10 yards.  Kroll also served as the holder for all extra-point and field goals attempts in the matchup.

Beaver rushed for a school record 286 yards on 39 carries and one touchdown in UW-Whitewater's 45-10 victory over No. 6-ranked UW-La Crosse at Perkins Stadium on Oct. 14. His 51-yard touchdown scamper in third quarter gave the Warhawks a 23-3 advantage. Beaver's rushing total surpassed the previous mark of 278 set by John Damato against Carroll College (Wis.) in 1997 and is also the 10th best total in conference history.

Bodurski was perfect on all four of his kicks in the Falcons' 20-17 win over UW-Stevens Point on Oct. 14. He converted both of his extra-point attempts as well as a pair of field goals. His first field goal, a 25-yard effort, at the 12:18 mark of the third quarter gave UW-River Falls a 17-10 advantage. Bodurski also converted a 30-yard attempt at the 3:46 mark of the third stanza which gave the Falcons a 20-10 lead.

Moriarty led UW-Oshkosh to a 23-21 victory over UW-Stout on Oct. 7 as the Titans registered their first win in Menomonie since 1996. He carried the football 35 times for 149 yards and two touchdowns. Moriarty put the Titans ahead 6-0 with a six-yard touchdown run in the first quarter and 16-0 with a two-yard plunge in the second quarter. It was the 11th career 100-yard rushing performance for Moriarty, who moved into third place on UW-Oshkosh's all-time rushing list with 2,488 yards. He also caught two passes for 22 yards against the Blue Devils.

Ogrizovich helped UW-Whitewater to a 31-13 win over UW-Stevens Point at Perkins Stadium on Oct. 7. He registered four tackles for losses of 10 yards, including two quarterback sacks in the contest. The four tackles for loss are a single-game high in the WIAC this season. Ogrizovich and the Warhawk defense limited the Pointers to minus-one yard rushing on 22 attempts, four first downs and 48 passing yards through the first three quarters of the game. UW-Stevens Point entered the contest as the league's top offensive unit.

Kolb had a big day for the Blugolds, scoring 11 of 23 points in a 23-3 victory over UW-River Falls on Oct. 7. He connected on field goals of 41, 27 and 41 yards in addition to connecting on both extra-point attempts. The three field goals in a game tied the school record owned by several players. For the season, Kolb is nine-for-nine on field goals and seven-for-seven on extra-point attempts. He is one field goal from tying the school record for field goals in a season and three consecutive field goals from tying the school record for most consecutive field goals made.

In just three quarters of playing time, Jacobs completed 19-of-36 passes for 260 yards and three touchdowns in UW-Whitewater's 34-0 victory at UW-Eau Claire on September 30. He registered touchdown tosses of 2, 39 and 32-yards in the opening quarter as the Warhawks raced to a 24-0 advantage after the first stanza.

Neff had seven tackles, including six solo and three for a loss, as UW-Oshkosh shutout UW-River Falls, 24-0, on September 30. UW-Oshkosh's shutout, the Titans' second of the 2006 season, was its first against a WIAC opponent since a 3-0 victory over UW-Superior on Sept. 15, 1990. Neff recorded all three of his tackles for a loss in the first half to help UW-Oshkosh build a 10-0 halftime lead. The Falcons finished the game with 123 yards rushing and 120 yards passing.

Danielson caught seven passes for 197 yards, all in the first half, in UW-Platteville's 24-7 win over Augustana (Ill.) on September 23. He caught two scoring passes of 49 yards in the first quarter for a 14-0 Pioneer lead. After the Vikings closed the gap to 14-7, he brought a 33-yard pass down to the one-yard line, setting up a score on the next play. His 197 yards set a career high and were the fifth-best total in UW-Platteville history.

Hall rushed nine times for 53 yards with three touchdowns in UW-La Crosse's 36-14 victory at UW-Stevens Point on September 16. He scored on a four-yard run in the first quarter; a 17-yard run in the second quarter and a two-yard run in the third. Hall also caught one pass for six yards.

Baillargeon played a key role for the Falcon defense in the team's 24-17 win at Pacific Lutheran (Wash.) on September 16 as UW-River Falls held the Lutes to 200 total yards and minus-three yards rushing (a Falcon modern day record). He intercepted two passes, broke up a pass, forced a fumble and led the team with nine tackles (two solo and seven assists). Baillargeon's first interception came on Pacific Lutheran's first drive of the second half with the Lutes holding a 10-0 lead. On a second-and-15 play, he intercepted the pass and returned it 29 yards to the PLU 20. The Falcons scored on the first play from scrimmage to make it a 10-7 game. On Pacific Lutheran's next possession, the Lutes drove into Falcon territory before Baillargeon intercepted another pass. On UW-River Falls' second play from scrimmage after the interception, the Falcons scored again to take a 14-10 lead.

Elgin started the second half with a bang, returning the opening kick 92 yards for a touchdown in UW-Whitewater's 24-7 victory over Azusa Pacific (Calif.) on September 16. The return was the first in his career and opened a tight game to give the Warhawks a 17-7 advantage. It is the second-longest kickoff return for a touchdown in school history behind a 97-yard scamper, which has been accomplished twice, most recently by Derek Stanley against UW-Platteville on October 4, 2003.

Moriarty rushed for 100 yards and totaled another 48 on pass receptions during UW-Oshkosh's 33-22 loss to NCAA Division II Minnesota State on September 9. He carried the football 26 times, including a one-yard touchdown run that cut UW-Oshkosh's deficit to 21-19 with 9:05 left in the third quarter. The 100-yard rushing game was his sixth in the last seven contests. Moriarty also caught seven passes, including one that went for 18 yards.

Cummings spearheaded an aggressive Blugold defense that stymied Black Hills State (SD) in a 20-0 victory on September 9. He led the team in tackles with seven, including three tackles for 13 yards in losses and two sacks for 12 yards in losses. The Yellow Jackets finished with minus-three yards rushing in 30 attempts and 125 yards of total offense in 60 plays. The UW-Eau Claire defense stopped Black Hills State 14 of 15 times on third down plays and four of five times on fourth down plays.

Kolb kicked two field goals (30 and 38 yards) and converted both extra-point attempts in a 20-0 win over Black Hills State (SD) on September 9. He averaged 40.0 yards on four punts and booted his only kickoff 63 yards. Kolb currently leads the Blugolds in scoring with 11 points.

Offense
Derek Stanley, Senior (Verona), Wide Receiver of UW-Whitewater
Stanley had an impressive first half performance in UW-Whitewater's season-opening 75-14 victory over Lakeland on September 2. He caught eight passes for 196 yards and four touchdowns. His touchdown receptions covered 81, 26, 19 and 15 yards and tied a school record. Stanley also returned two kickoffs for 33 yards in the contest and made one tackle and forced a fumble on a kickoff return. The 75 points scored by the Warhawks broke the school record of 73 set in last year's 73-12 win at Lakeland.

Teeples had three interceptions, two tackles and one pass break-up in UW-La Crosse's 17-3 victory at NCAA Division I-AA South Dakota State on September 2. The three interceptions tied a school single-game record. It was also Teeples' second career three interception game (vs. UW-Stevens Point, 2004). Teeples had all three of his interceptions against South Dakota State in the second half, including two in the final 5:00 of the game. He moved into a tie for third-place in career interceptions at UW-La Crosse with 16.

Walker's 48-yard kickoff return late in the fourth quarter set up UW-Stout for the eventual game-winning touchdown. He took the kick at the Stout 4-yard line and worked his way through traffic until he was eventually stopped on the William Penn 48-yard line. Walker had an active night, returning three kickoffs for 104 total yards. He also had a 14-yard pass reception.
